The present work is a (partial) copy of Peter Paul Ruben's painting "Der trunkene Silen" (“The Drunken Silenus”), which was created around 1618 and is now in the collection of the Alte Pinakothek in Munich. The painter's wife, Isabelle Brant, was the model for the blonde female figure. In the copy offered, the focus is mainly on the upper right area of the picture, which was supplemented with additional elements to form an independent composition.
