Lushly filled Wanli porcelain bowls with peaches and plums are part of Jacob van Hulsdonck's classic repertoire. The veined leaves, small insects and deceptively naturalistic dewdrops complement the offered work. The colorful opulence of the depicted fruits in contrast to the muted background and table give the composition a realistic-modern touch, which a number of painters of the 19th and 20th centuries would later try to follow.

Üppig gefüllte Wanli-Schalen mit Pfirsichen und Pflaumen gehören zum klassischen Motivrepertoire von Jacob van Hulsdonck. Die geäderten Blätter, kleine Insekten und täuschend naturalistische Tautropfen ergänzen das angebotene Werk. Die farbkräftige Opulenz der dargestellten Früchte im Kontrast zum zurückhaltenden Hintergrund und Tischblatt verleihen der Komposition eine realistisch-moderne Note, an der sich später eine Reihe von Malern des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts zu orientieren versuchen sollte.
