You can reach us by phone, by email, via our online form or by WhatsApp at +41 79 470 57 37. Send us a few photos and details of your object, for example the artist, dimensions, signature and provenance. Based on this information, our team will give you an initial assessment of whether your object is suitable for auction and in which price range it lies.
For entire collections and estates, it is best to call us directly on +41 31 560 10 60.
In many cases, the photos are sufficient for us to provide a valuation. If a closer examination is needed, we will assess your object in person: at our premises at Monbijoustrasse 32 in Bern, at one of our valuation days or, for valuable single pieces and collections, at your home. We check the condition, authenticity and any details that cannot be seen in photos.
If you decide to sell, please bring your object to us in Bern before the consignment deadline. On request, we can also arrange transport. Once your object has arrived, we conclude the consignment contract together. It sets out the estimate, the commission and, if you wish, a minimum price (reserve). Our auctions take place every year in May and November. The consignment deadline is mid-March or mid-September respectively.
Our specialists describe your object in scholarly detail and have it professionally photographed. All objects appear in our online catalogue, and selected works are also featured in our printed highlights catalogue.
Before each auction, all consigned works are shown in a ten-day public exhibition on our premises in Bern, where interested buyers can view your object in person. Bids are then placed in the saleroom, by telephone, in writing and online via Invaluable, Drouot and LotTissimo. This way, your object reaches collectors around the world.
After the auction, you will receive a detailed statement. We transfer the proceeds to you six weeks after the auction, once the buyer’s payment has been received. If your object has not been sold, we will discuss the next steps with you.
