Utrillo painted the mill complex and cabaret from the perspective of the street corner at Rue Lepic/Rue Girardon. The subject had already inspired Vincent van Gogh to create compositions and was repeatedly captured in interior views by artists such as Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Auguste Renoir, and Pablo Picasso. In Utrillo's work, the mill appears in a flat color style with sparse figurative decoration.

Utrillo malte das Mühlenensemble samt Kabarett aus dem Blickwinkel der Strassenecke Rue Lepic/Rue Girardon. Das Sujet inspirierte bereits Vincent van Gogh zu Kompositionen und wurde wiederholt in Innenansichten von Künstlern wie Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Auguste Renoir und Pablo Picasso festgehalten. In Utrillos Werk erscheint die Mühle in einem flächigen Farbduktus und mit spärlicher Figurenstaffage.
