In the present work, Yue Minjun presents a group of male figures with stereotypically frozen smiles, who seem to mimic each other’s expressions. Equally known for its mimicry is the oversized macaw in the foreground, posing almost benevolently as it watches over the uniform collective. The background consists of a blue sky dotted with harmless-looking clouds - a motif frequently found in propagandistic illustrations from the communist era.

Auf dem vorliegenden Werk führt Yue Minjun eine Reihe männlicher Figuren mit stereotyp eingefrorenem Lächeln vor, die sich gegenseitig in ihrer Mimik zu imitieren scheinen. Ebenso bekannt für seine Nachahmungskunst ist der übergross im Bildvordergrund posierende, fast gütig über dem gleichförmigen Kollektiv wachende Ara-Papagei. Als Hintergrund dient ein einzig von harmlosem Gewölk durchzogener blauer Himmel, der sich in den propagandistischen Illustrationen der kommunistischen Ära zahlreich wiederfindet.
