The process from the initial valuation to the successful auction is clearly structured, transparent and personally supervised by us. We accompany you from the initial contact to delivery, cataloguing and auction. Every step is designed to present your item in the best possible light and to ensure a smooth process and the best possible auction proceeds.
You can upload photographs and information using our online form, send us an e-mail, or arrange an appointment with one of our specialists by phone.
For an accurate initial assessment, please include details such as the artist’s name, medium, date, dimensions (excluding frame), and any provenance or literature references.
Our valuations are confidential, non-binding, and free of charge when considering a consignment.
Expert days
Valuation days are held several times a year in various Swiss cities, including Basel, Geneva, Lausanne and Neuchâtel. There you will have the opportunity to present your art objects to our experts and have them valued without obligation. You can find the dates here.
Once you have decided to consign, you may bring your works directly to our offices in Bern by appointment.
We are happy to advise you on suitable transport options or recommend experienced fine art shippers.
During house visits, our experts may also collect the works on-site and arrange for their safe transport to Bern.
Our art historians carefully examine each object, compare it with international references, and consult external specialists when necessary.
Estimates are market-oriented, taking into account subject, technique, condition, and current market trends.
Together with you, we determine a realistic reserve price that ensures optimal chances of sale.
Each consigned work is scientifically documented, described, and professionally photographed.
Your objects are published in our printed catalogue, on our website, and on international auction platforms to achieve maximum reach and visibility.
Before every auction, we hold a ten-day public preview in our gallery rooms in Bern.
This exhibition allows collectors and art enthusiasts to view the works in person and receive professional advice.
Twice a year – in early May and early November – we conduct our multi-day auctions featuring around 3,000 lots across various collecting categories.
Bidding is possible in the saleroom, by telephone, by written bid, or live online. Your works thus reach an international audience and benefit from strong global demand.
After the auction, you will receive a detailed statement of results.
The proceeds – minus the agreed seller’s commission – are usually paid approximately six weeks after the sale.
Even after the auction, we remain available for further advice or possible post-sale arrangements.
